linked device, and if you change preferences (or bookmarks),
they will be seen by any other linked device when it starts.
This device will get a copy of the preferences and bookmarks
of the device which shared this link. Subsequent changes on that device
will not be seen on this device, nor will changes on this device be
shared with that device. It's a one-time copy.
